SERASA BEACH CLEAN UP CAMPAIGN

More than 400 people from various deparments under the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources attended a clean up campaign at Serasa Beach yesterday, 17th May 2009. It was initiated by the ministry and was supported by the Brunei Muara District Office, the Department of Environment and Recretaional Park ( JASTRE ) and Tourism Development Department as the host.

The event started with warming up session led by our very own Tai Chi master, Mr Vincent, then this was followed up with a "Poco-Poco" dance which seemed to be so popular among out community nowadays. The beach was divided into 5 zones, i.e., white, green, yellow, blue and pink, where the individuals were supposed to pick up rubbish within the colour zone according to the colour of the tickets given to them. According to the organiser, that was not the end of their effort to educate our people about the importance of keeping our country clean... more clean up campaigns will be arranged by them, especially at other public places throughout the country.
